The IFMA Chesapeake Chapter is proud to announce our upcoming Day of Service! We are looking for energetic volunteers to join us for a day of teamwork, community impact, and fun as we support the Habitat for Humanity ReStore.
The ReStore is a nonprofit home improvement store and donation center that sells gently used furniture, appliances, and building materials to the public at a fraction of the retail price. Every dollar earned helps Habitat for Humanity of the Chesapeake build strength, stability, and self-reliance through affordable homeownership in Central Maryland.
What We’ll Be Doing
As volunteers, we will work alongside the ReStore team to ensure the shop is organized and ready for customers. Tasks may include:
• Assisting with the intake of donations.
• Organizing and merchandising furniture, appliances, and building supplies.
• Pricing items and preparing them for the sales floor.
• Assisting customers with finding the perfect items for their home projects.
Why Volunteer?
This is a fantastic opportunity to network with fellow IFMA members while giving back to the local community. Your efforts directly contribute to the diversion of usable goods from landfills and help fund housing projects in Baltimore City and Anne Arundel, Baltimore, and Howard Counties.
Our Chapter Contribution
In addition to our time, we are asking for a small $10 donation from each volunteer as IFMA Chesapeake will make a financial donation to the ReStore during our shift. This contribution will directly support Habitat’s mission of building and renovating affordable homes in the Baltimore and Anne Arundel County areas.
