Panel Discussion and Q&A:

Establishing and improving Building Energy Performance Standards for Maryland buildings is a priority for the Maryland Department of the Environment. The Climate Solutions Now Act of 2022 is arguably the most ambitious climate change law adopted by any state in the county. The act calls for Maryland to reduce greenhouse gases (GHG) by 60% (compared to 2006 baseline) by 2031 and for the Maryland economy to reach net-zero emissions by 2045.

In the coming years, further legislative requirements for Maryland buildings are expected on both the State and County level, with goals to improve energy use intensity for an overall reduction in Greenhouse Gas Emissions to achieve the legislative requirements.

Maryland Energy and Environmental Subject Matter Experts will discuss the state regulation process and requirements for continued environmental emissions management. Furthermore, discussions regarding relevant information for management of current and projected future building requirements, building Greenhouse Gas Emissions, retrofit timelines, and data benchmarking requirements will be reviewed.

Building Owners should be aware about what the proposed new requirements mean for their buildings, and how to navigate the timing and costs related to energy efficiency retrofits.

The webinar will outline the primary focal points building owners need to know to ensure compliance with State and Local requirements in Maryland.

Reducing Maryland greenhouse gas emissions will require collaborative efforts, learn how you can reduce your impact on the planet while maintaining cost-efficient compliance.
